ABOUT US
The villas are owned by myself, Gordon and my wife, Linda.
During my many years of travelling round the world on holiday or
as part of my job, I decided one year, to have a holiday in
Crete because so many friends said what a lovely place it
was.
Following a two week “solo” holiday in the South of
Crete, I was sold. Not only by the sunshine, the scenery and
the dozens and dozens of small secluded bays scattered everywhere,
but also because of the friendliness of the locals and the general
“laid back” and relaxed way of life.
Another holiday with the
family followed the next year, but this time in the North of Crete
and the family also loved the place. A decision was made that “one
day” we would settle down in Crete. But the choice had to be
made of just exactly “WHERE?” in Crete.
In early January
2003, we once again visited the island, hired a car and drove absolutely
everywhere round the island, to see where we liked best but it was a very
difficult choice. A difficult choice that is, until we found ELOUNDA!!!
The first time we drove from Agios Nikolaos and caught a glimpse of Elounda,
basking as it was on that January morning, in 22 - 25C of sunshine, (there were
even a few people swimming in the sea!!) we could not believe how beautiful
it was and knew instantly, that this was the place!! All the other places, although
wonderful in their own rights, stood no chance. Elounda had
absolutely everything we could want and we knew immediately that
this was where they wanted to settle down.
We sat on the hillside above Elounda
(which is where Elounda Bay Villas now stand) and were captivated by the amazing scenery
and thought what a wonderful relaxing place to invite family and friends,
because other than very exotic places like the Seychelles and the
Maldives, Elounda Bay was right up there, very close to the top of
the “Nicest Place ever Visited” list.
We decided to
buy a plot of land, build three villas on it and invite others to
come and sample the beauty that Elounda has to offer.
Since
then, we have spent more time looking round the island exploring
every nook and cranny and now, are even more convinced that
Elounda is the best place to be!
But don’t just take our
